Established in 1869, it is known as the oldest Shochu manufacturer in Kagoshima, yet inheriting the handmade process since its foundation. Along with the methods, the natural environment is also an important factor for producing high quality Satuma Shochu. The fresh water along with the clear air flowing from the surrounding mountains makes Aira an ideal spot for this purpose. Inside the facility is a tasting corner, where you can appreciate the determined tastiness outright. To discover the attraction of shochu, you should also visit the "Ishigura Museum" established alongside the brewery. Through observing the actual making and experiencing the distillation of the shochu, you can learn the history and strong preferences of Shirakane Brewery. Various gourmets and sweets matching well or related with shochu are available at the stall.
