Shikisai no Oka Shikisai no Oka is a hill that locates in Biei, Hokkaido. It is a huge flower garden of measuring 150 thousand square meters, and about 30 different kinds of flowers bloom like the arrangement of colors on a palette. These flowers can be seen anytime between spring to and fall, but the period between July to September is the best to visit. Various types of flowers bloom all at once, creating a rainbow flower garden which cannot be seen anywhere else. You can explore the flower fields by foot, or you can take the recommended “Norokko” bus tractor or the buggy. Moreover, there are other ways to enjoy in this park such as going to the “Alpaca Farm”, where you can interact with alpacas at a very close distance, or the “Shikisai no Oka Farm” where you can buy vegetables made on the hill. In winter, the garden gets covered with snow, enabling you to enjoy winter sports such as snowmobile and snow rafting.

Hinode Park Lavender Garden Hinode Lavender Garden locates in the town of Kami-furano in central Hokkaido. Between late June and early October, the fields are covered in beautiful lavender flowers. In early July, the earliest flowers blossom. Around mid-July, the light purple lavender flowers bloom, and the entire area is perfumed with its lovely sscent. From the observation deck on the premise, you can see the lavender fields and Mount Tokachidake. Every July, the Lavender Festival is held at Hinode Park and the Hinode Lavender garden. Celebrities hold performances on the stage near the lavender fields. At night, a fireworks display is held too.

Himawari no Sato Himawari no Sato sunflower field locates in the town of Hokuryu in northwestern Hokkaido. The sunflower field project began in 1979 when a town agricultural cooperative member was moved after seeing a sunflower field in Yugoslavia. Today, the sunflower field measures about 231,000㎡ with over 1.5 million sunflowers. The flowers blossom around mid July to mid August. During that period, the town hosts the Himawari (sunflower) Festival. Events such as a sunflower maze, sightseeing carts and more are held during the festival. Some special events held during the festival period include fireworks display, melon/watermelon festival and more.

San ai no Oka Park San ai no Oka Park locates in the town of Biei in central Hokkaido. The little house with the red roof is representative of the park. From here, you can see surrounding scenery such as the Tokachi Mountain Range and Mount Daisetsu. Nearby, you can find other scenic spots like Shirahige Falls and the Blue Pond (Aoi-ike). Both sites are known for their beautiful blue waters.
