Ioji Temple

Ioji Temple
Ioji Temple, made in 826, is the second oldest temple in Tomonoura. It is said to be made by Kukai, a Buddhist monk during the time. Though a fire damaged the temple, it was rebuilt to its current form in the 17th century. The view from the temple’s Taishiden Hall, located 538 steps up from the main hall, is one you will never forget.
